CUFA formally presented funds raised from the Australian Credit Union & Building Society Bushfire Appeal to the Australian Red Cross on Monday 30 March 2009.

The appeal ran from 9 February to 27 March 2009, raising in excess of $1,000,000.00 to assist those affected by the bushfires.

CUFA has been recognised as a top performing Australian NGO.

The corporate social responsibility capability of Credit Union Foundation Australia (CUFA) was recognised in the “The State of CSR in Australia: 2009 Annual Review” by the Australian Centre for Corporate Social Responsibility, launched at their Third Annual Conference, Sydney February 5 2009.
