Remember when you were a kid and your parents would encourage you to save your pocket money toward that toy you had your eye on?
Little did we know at the time but our parents were providing us with the valuable lesson of saving which we have taken with us into our adult life.
Many children in Cambodia are not taught this valuable lesson of Financial Literacy and so the cycle of poverty continues.
It costs just $3.80 to educate a child for 1 year on the merits of saving and managing their money. A lesson that is invaluable for their future.
Your contribution will assist CUFA to reach more than 12,000 children each year with financial literacy education and linking them to nearby savings banks. The development of financial literacy at a young age will create independence and have a positive long-term impact on the children's opportunities later in life.
This project focuses on 7 to 9 years olds in poor regions of Cambodia, reaching schools in Battambang, Takeo, Prey Veng and Kandal Provinces.
