The core values and objectives of the DE remain the same for each program, but the subject material is refreshed and updated for each DE. This ensures that topical issues are addressed and that all material is contemporary and therefore relevant to credit unions today.

Core DE Program content addresses the following areas:

• Credit union history and operating principles
• Indigenous Financial Literacy
• Corporate Social Responsibility
• The Environment
• Gender issues
• Public speaking and presentation skills
• Development and the Millennium Development Goals (MDG’s)

Development issues are updated in order to keep up with social agenda and to maintain a fresh, current view of relevant development matters.

Both domestic and international development issues are addressed.
