Credit Union Development Education (DE) Program Strategy.

Strategy - Who should attend the DE?

The DE program is a specialised training and development education program available for CEO’s, directors, senior management and for all staff from credit unions, mutuals, and third party providers. DE is a means through which CEO’s can invest in their staff and management by ensuring they are exposed to the best training and education available.

In order to maximise the benefits of the DE program, it is recommended that special consideration be given to current leaders, emerging leaders, key staff members, and to those who demonstrate potential and initiative within the workplace. It is also highly recommended that expression of interest or an application or process is used when selecting representatives to attend the DE.

In-house application process for selecting DE participants - why?

• Increases staff motivation and work performance
• Increases awareness of the investment that the credit union is making for their staff
• Increases awareness of DE program objectives and outcomes that participants are expected to achieve for their credit union
• Applicants acknowledge and accept there is an on-going project that they must complete which must directly filter back into their credit union
• Method of recognising and rewarding staff for their performance within the workplace
