   008/2007 DE Workshop Bulletin

CUFA has, for more than a decade, run the Development Educators Workshop (DE). WAW Credit Union has graciously provided a great deal of operational support during that time. After many years of support WAW Credit Union has now decided to concentrate their efforts on other activities.

The Management and Board of CUFA understand the value of the DE Workshop to the Australian Credit Union movement as well to our Asia Pacific neighbours and have a strong desire to continue to run the workshops. With WAW stepping aside the CUFA Board have decided that it is an opportune moment to take stock and look to reinvigorate and renew the DE Program. The March DE program has been cancelled however CUFA is committed to run a the DE Workshop in 2007 in a new and innovative format, in a new location with fresh content. Discussions are now occurring as to what this might look like.

Further communication about the DE program will be provided in future National Bulletins. If you would like to be involved in those discussions (especially if you are a DE) and have some ideas or suggestions please contact us as it is important that the DE program going forward has as wide participation as possible.
