448/2006 Expressions of Interest - CUFA Board

With the recent resignation of Rowan Dowland from the board of Credit Union Foundation Australia Pty Limited (CUFA), a casual vacancy has arisen. Expressions of interest are therefore invited from individuals to fill that casual vacancy, which will be for a term to expire 1 November 2007.

The commitment includes attendance at 8 board meetings a year in Sydney along with representing CUFA within the credit union industry. The position is voluntary with reimbursement of travel and associated expenses when attending board meetings.

Selection Criteria

The selection criteria have been designed to identify the best candidate for the position and nominees are requested to briefly address these criteria when applying, as follows:

Experience and/or well developed understanding of the range of work that CUFA does and the issues facing CUFA; Understanding of both domestic and international development issues and how these relate to the credit union industry; Experience in the area of Corporate Social Responsibility and an understanding of its relevance to the credit union industry; Demonstrated leadership and/or management skills (previous board, committee and/or senior management experience would be an advantage); and Demonstrated ability to work effectively with other board members, key stakeholders, government departments and staff.

The successful appointee will be representing all stakeholders, rather than any particular credit union with which they may have a connection. For that reason, potential applicants will not be precluded from selection on the basis of multiple representation from a single credit union.

The closing date for expressions of interest is Friday, 20 January 2007. Applications should be sent to The Company Secretary, CUFA, GPO Box 4720, Sydney NSW 2001
